I have joined the Pinterest wagon. Who would have thought that it would be so addicting to pin your favorites and have them all in one spot? I love it!

Here are a few of my favorites right now!

I LOVE everything about this bedroom. The green chandelier, the green curtains, light tealy blue walls, the bedding, and that bench. I love it all and wish it was mine!!

Oh if only I could crochet... I would love to curl up with this blanket and read a book.

ABC's

So I suppose that I should update this little old blog of mine. It has been pretty neglected lately. :(

Today was a pretty sad day. As some of you know, I work in a daycare and last Wednesday, one of our 1 year old passed away. Today was her funeral. She will be dearly missed and the suffering her family is going through breaks my heart. So I just wanted to let you know that is where my head has been the past few days.

(Please don't mind my eyebrows... I really have to get them done again.)

Anyways, I saw this on someone else's blog (can't remember who so if it was your idea, please let me know and I'll credit you!) and thought it was kinda cool.

Project Restyle

Elsie (a.k.a. Mrs. Larson--CONGRATULATIONS!!!) at A Beautiful Mess has started a Project Restyle awhile back and I just decided to join that bandwagon.

I just recently painted my bedroom and wanted one tall bookshelf instead of two smaller ones. My stepmom put these two together by drilling smaller boards at the bottom of one shelf and the top of the other shelf. (I am no where near construction/carpentry smart, so I have no idea really how to explain this...) After the two shelves were together, I covered a particle board with American Crafts patterned paper. I used a spray adhesive to attach the patterned paper. I, well not me but my stepmom, nailed the particle board to the back of the bookshelf. I actually measured the bookshelf wrong so the particle board was too short and too wide. The short part really didn't bother me because I just covered that up with books (the bottom shelf), but the wide part I had to do away with. I didn't take any pictures, but I took a utility knife and just cut it off. It came off pretty easy too! Now I am left with a bookshelf that I love!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I have a few graduation parties to attend tomorrow and then back to the coal mine on Monday. I'm counting down the days to the 3 day weekend that is coming up!

What's In My Purse

I can't believe that it has been almost a month since I've posted. I need to get better at this blogging thing huh? My bedroom is done, I have to take pictures yet, but will soon! In the mean time, I decided to show you what's in my purse!

I LOVE this purse! It is a purse-n-ality purse party purse. It is super springy and I love the colors!

Anyways, here is what is in my purse...
1. Pens.. I have a thing for pens. I love pens and have a ton laying all over my room.
2. Book and receipt/bill.. I always carry a book with me. I usually read while I am on my break at work. I also have my eye doctor receipt and a dentist bill.
3. Checkbook and Car Payment slips..
4. Calculator and little notebook.. Need a calculator to balance my checkbook (I am horrible at math) and a little notebook to write down all the lists and things to do.
5. Perfume.. Gotta smell good through out the day! I love this Sex and the City perfume. I got it at Gordman's for $6!
6. Work schedules and receipts.. I am horrible and taking out my old work schedules.
7. Deodorant.. Can't have stinky pits!
8. Foot lotion and eyeglasses cleaner/rag.. My feet get super dry during the day and my glasses get really dirty through out the day as I work in a daycare.
9. Roll of stamps..
10. Prescription Pills and EyeRestore Pills.. Recently went to the eye doctor and they did a new test on my eyes and the macular pigment in my eyes is slowly going away and I have to take a pill daily to help improve the pigment. If I don't, in the future I could go blind. Scary!
11. Chapstick..
12. Hand lotion and sanitizer.. Twilight Woods from Bath and Body Works--smells really good!
13. Owl Wallet.. From Mod Cloth. I LOVE owls!

Normally, I can't find anything in my purse because I just throw any lose paper, candy, change, etc. in here, but since I bought the Kangaroo Keeper, it makes finding things so much easier!!

Tooter Fruiter

One day she is going to hate that I call her that. But for now, she is my little Tooter Fruiter. My niece is spending the night tonight since my sister is sick. I guess the little fruit fly's papa wanted to see her so he volunteered to get up bright and early with her tomorrow morning. Yeah, right, like that is going to happen! Ha!

She always does this thing when she spends the night. "I have to say good night to my papa." She gets out of bed to say good night. She gets back into bed. "I have to give my grandma a hug and a kiss." She gets out of bed to give her grandma a hug and a kiss. She gets back into bed. And it continues on until I get tired of it and sit there and rub her back. Well, tonight she did the same thing to my stepmom who tried to put her to bed around 9:30. I said my good nights to her and went up to my own bed and all I could hear were her little feet running back and forth from her bed to the garage where her grandma and papa were.

Then, my little sister and her boyfriend came home around 11:00 p.m. and the little fart face was still awake and wired. I went out and asked her why she was still awake and the stinker mcghee and her auntie Alyssa were making her a 'bed' on the floor in her auntie's room. I guess Auntie Alyssa is having a slumber party with this adorable face.

This kid was so excited to sleep in Alyssa's room that she was jumping up and down saying "This is going to be so great!"

How can you not love her?

5 Things I Love Sunday

Since I was a total slacker last Sunday and didn't post my 5 things I love, I decided that I better post it tonight. So here are 5 new things that I love.

Handmade Lamp... Doesn't look handmade does it? I love, love, love the color.
Found here

Mod Tree Pillow... I love that the tree is made of felt and the colors of the leaves are AWESOME!
Found here

Urban France Art Photographs... Aren't these colors AMAZING?!?! I think these would look awesome hanging on the walls of my newly painted bedroom.
Found here

Spray Painted 3 Tier Organizer... I was looking on Elsie Flannigan's Project Restyle Flickr and saw this. I don't know why I couldn't think of spray painting my ugly white tiered organizer. It is something that is so easy to do and won't take a ton of time. I also love that you can't see into the drawers of the organizer.
Found here via Project Restyle

Shelf Restyle... I also found this on the Project Restyle Flickr. I think this would look awesome on my wall with a few scrappy items in it!
Found here via Project Restyle

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I wish it was longer. I painted my bedroom yesterday and today (a color called Beach Water) and I love it. However, I ran out of paint today doing the 2nd coat. So I have to go back to the hardware store tomorrow morning before work to get another gallon of paint. Sigh. So I am sitting on my bed that is almost in the middle of my room and clutter all around me and it is driving me nuts. I need to finish this paint job and get my room back in shape. Don't worry, I have pictures taken of the mess and once my room is back in order, I will post them.

Babies

I haven't scrapbooked this much in a couple months I think! I did this of my cutie patootie niece who really never played with babies, but every once in awhile she would take one for a stroll.
I used a sketch, but I can't remember where I got it from, so if this looks like one of your sketches, thank you!!

Products Used:
Patterned Paper, Stickers: Echo Park
Brown Cardstock: American Crafts

I watched the little Turk Face today while my sister went shopping, again. We were watching Scooby-Doo while laying in my bed this afternoon and I looked over at her and she was out. I snapped a few picture, careful not to wake her. However, when I went to get out of my bed and go scrap, she woke up. Do you like her bangs? She cut them herself yesterday. Well, my sister tried to fix them. I didn't see what it looked like after the fact.
After her nap, I had to take up her little coloring table from our garage so she could do some "scrapping-booking" with me in my room. It was cute how excited she got when she would cut and glue some of my old patterned paper. I tried to get a picture of her, but she refused to let me get one. Oh well, next time because I think she is going to be a little crafter!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I will be back soon with my 5 Things I Love Sunday post!

Did I Really Need This?

Probably not, but I got all this stuff anyways. I went to A Walk Down Memory Lane today after work to get zoo papers and only zoo papers. I walked out with all this stuff and no zoo papers. I got 3 paper packs... I love paper packs... some stamps, and a few single sheets of paper. Why, oh, why does this hobby have to come with such a shopping addiction? I feel as if I need all the newest, latest and greatest stuff out there.

Scrappy Layouts

My church had their monthly scrapbooking night tonight. I was there for 3 hours and I got 2 layouts done. I think that is pretty good for me!

Oh Brooklynn, you are such a silly little girl. I love you to bits though!
Sketch is by PageMaps

Last summer, I wanted to take a nice picture of Brooklynn in front of my stepmom's flowers, but this little girl never will stay still long enough for that to happen. So this picture is what I got. It will have to do until the flowers become pretty enough for me to try again. Isn't she a stinker or what?
Sketch is by So Sketchy!

I hope everyone has a wonderful crafty weekend! I have plans to scrap some more tomorrow and Sunday afternoon I have to watch the Turk Face.

Coming Home

Has anyone seen the new show on Lifetime called "Coming Home"? It is on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. central time. I watched it last night and all I have to say is holy cows they should have warned me that I would need a whole box of tissues. I love that they have created a show that shows the homecomings of the men and women who have/are serving our country. It was awesome to be able to watch those homecomings.

I work at a daycare and there is a 2 year old whose dad is currently deployed. She is a daddy's girl and it breaks my heart to see her miss her daddy so much. Today she was standing in the middle of the room looking sad and I asked her what was wrong and she told me that she wanted her daddy.

As a person who sees the hardships and sadness of a someone who has a family member deployed, I am super happy that there is a show out there that shows the happy returns and the exciting surprises.

If you haven't see last night's episode, make sure you check in next Sunday night. I do have to say that this is the best show out there!

My Name is Amy....

and I have a purse/handbag addiction. I kid you not, I absolutely LOVE purses. It's my weakness and I have a hard time saying no when I find one I like.

There are 10 purses hanging here (some are behind the bigger ones that I like the most :) ). These hang in a little awkward space between my door and closet door. I only have the cloth purses/totes hanging here.

On the top shelf of my closet is where I put my non-cloth purses (minus that white one, I will have to put her back where she belongs :) ). The first 4 purses that are standing up still have their tags on them. Gasp! I told you I have a hard time saying no! There are 10 purses in my closet.

This is my current purse plus a couple Kangaroo Keepers but I will get to those later.
When I first saw this purse at a Bella Boutique store, I thought it was not so cute. As I walked around the store, I was liking it more and more so I bought it. I have never gotten so many comments on my purse and where I got it from before and it makes me smile!

Now on to the Kangaroo Keepers. My purses are always a mess and I can never ever find anything without dumping the contents out. So I bought a Kangaroo Keeper December 27, 2010. I waited for what seems like forever for it to get here and finally today they came!! I'm not going to lie, I am really excited that I have this. It makes my purse nice and organized. I did not, however, want 4 of them (I guess I can try to sell the other ones). They come in packs of 2, large and medium, but apparently on the website if you buy one you get one free, you just have to pay separate shipping and handling. Now I did not know this until I had my printable receipt. I wasn't too thrilled to tell you the truth, but now that they are here, I'm almost giddy! Oh the simple things that can make a girl happy!

Name Change & Etsy Finds

I have changed the name of my blog to the name of my first blog. I have always
loved the Hey, Pretty Girl name for my blog and have decided to change it back.
So if you all could change your links form Hip to my Heart to Hey, Pretty Girl (the link is the same though), I would appreciate it!

Etsy Favorite Finds

How cute and awesome is this whale tissue holder? I love that the tissue is comes out of his 'blowhole'. Adorable. I want this really bad, but it sold today :(

Love, love, love this Be Nice or Leave pillow. Wouldn't this look awesome sitting on your couch or chair? Love it!

This would look awesome above my bed. I need to learn to crochet!

This flower garland is so elegant and pretty. How beautiful would this look for a wedding?

Gorgeous! Love the colors here and this would look adorable in a baby's room.

OMG!! I NEED THIS RUG! How amazingly gorgeous is the colorful rug? Can you image how awesome this would look in a house?

I will be back later with more Etsy Favorite Finds.

Layouts

I really need to think of better blog post titles huh? Oh well. It has been forever since I last posted. I have gotten so busy and just plain tired. To make up for my lack of posting, here are 2 layouts that I did recently.

I did this layout for my critique group's (over at Scrapbook.com) January challenge. We had to use NO patterned paper, which for me, is hard considering I LOVE my patterned paper! I used a sketch from Becky Fleck's PageMaps 2 book. Love that book! This is my niece being a little stink pot! She is so adorable, I love her to bits! The title is one of her many nicknames that I have given her. :)
Material Used:
Kraft cardstock: The Paper Studio
Cardstock: yellow-The Paper Studio, teal & grey-Core'dinations, green-American Crafts, white-Bazzill

This layout I did for Scrapbook.com's January Scraplift the Person Before You challenge. I had the honor of lifting ~{Puppet}~'s layout you can see here.
I really loved how she made a scallop around the edge of her layout and I really loved the white inking with the doodled border. I also loved her topic that she scrapped.
Materials Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Dotted Swiss
Patterned Paper: polka dotted-Pink Paislee, teal polka dotted-Echo Park, green-gcd studios
