She Gets You In The End

Here is another layout I did for my Oh, Scrap! critique group challenge. We had to scrap about our favorite book, but I did my favorite author instead--Jodi Picoult! I love to get lost in her stories. She writes about things that can happen to anyone and I just love that when you get close to the end of the book, and you think you know what is going to happen, she throws you for a loop. I love it!!
I used a sketch for this layout.. It can be found here at Got Sketch?

Can I just say that I am in love with the new company Echo Park. I love the colors and the designs and it was kinda hard for me to cut into this patterned paper for this layout. I guess that is why I usually buy two of every pattern of paper I get.

It's Almost Here..

Oh, how I can't wait for fall. I love the smells, the colors, the cool weather, the crunchy leaves beneath my feet, and the fall decorations.

All photos are from here

Oh how fall cannot get here fast enough!

Just Plain Cute

Just another layout I did of my niece. This picture was, I think, when she was 5 or 6 months old. I did this for my Oh, Scrap! Critique Group summer challenge. We had to 'lift' ourselves. I don't have the original on this computer, but you can see it here. I usually have a hard time matching Sassafras Lass paper with other manufacturers papers and especially making sure my pictures don't disappear. I must say that I am extremely happy with the way that this layout came out! The papers (Sassafras, Martha Stewart-background, American Crafts-big pink dotted, and Bazzill-orange and teal cardstock) work so well together! I am loving this layout right now!

I hope you all have a marvelous Monday!

Books, Books, and More Books

I made this layout for the August Scraplift the Person Before You challenge over at Scrapbook.com. I lifted CatScrapsHere.

There is just something about having a lot of books on my book shelves that I love. I love to get caught up in an awesome book and forget about life!

4 Simple Goals...

Elsie over at A Beautiful Mess is doing a 4 Simple Goals Before 2011 challenge. She is challenging anyone who wants to do this to make 4 simple goals that will make your life happier on a daily basis. I know that I need to try to improve my daily life so I am going to be doing this!

My 4 Simple Goals are :
1) Create more. Either it be scrapbooking, drawing, painting, sewing, whatever it is, I need to sit down and just create and let my mind wander for a bit and not worry about all that is stressing me.

2) Exercise atleast 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes. I need to get into a healthier exercise routine and I have access to a wonderful wellness center but I don't use it. I need to get over my fear of other people looking at me while on the treadmill.

3) Smile more. Plain and simple, I need to lose the scowl and smile!! :) :) :)

4) Budget/manage my money better! This one is huge for me. I would like to move out of my parents house sometime soon so I have to watch my spending habits so I can make this one work!!

Go over to Elsie's blog and join her 4 Simple Goals challenge.

New Computer!!

So so so sorry that I have been away for too long!! My old computer had a virus on it, I got it removed and then I couldn't get on the internet at all. So instead of wasting my time trying to figure out how to fix it, I waited until my little sister got her new MacBook so I could buy her "old" one.

So I have a MacBook. I am kinda excited for it, I'm not going to lie. The only thing is, I have no idea how to really use it. I am just winging it and hoping I don't mess anything up! With that said, I do not have any of my Washington D.C. layouts on this computer as they are all on my old laptop. I have them in an online gallery so maybe I will have to save them on to this computer to upload them.

This is going to take some time getting use to as I had a Dell laptop before. So far so good, but hopefully it won't take me long to figure it out or get use to!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! It's a nice breezy sunny day and makes me long for fall!

Washington D.C. Part 2

Here are five more layouts of my Washington D.C. album. I hope you enjoy looking at them!

I stitched a pocket on my page for the pictures of our hotel room. I had too many photos that I wanted to scrap of the room so I thought a pocket was my best bet!

It was super nice to have somone who lived in D.C. to take us and show us around the city. Because if it was up to me to get us around the city, we probably would still be there, lost and unable to find our way back!
I hope your Tuesday was a terrific one!

Washington D.C.

As promised, here are the first few layouts of my Washington D.C. album. I think I edited 50+ pictures of layouts (plus all the 2 pagers that I did). So the book is huge. I will show 5 layouts at a time so it's not overwhelming!

These photos that I took of my layouts turned out pretty bad. I didn't have good natural lighting and they came out kinda blurry. I need to learn to take better pictures :)

I went on this trip with my friend from college, Heidi and 2 of her friends from high school. I was so excited when Heidi asked me to go along on this trip and I was super nervous at the same time. I mean, I have never flown on a plane before this trip and I was terrified out of my mind. The plane ride was pretty smooth and I had a ton of fun on this trip. I would really love to go again sometime.

We were sight seeing while waiting to check into our hotel and we walked passed the White House. There were tons of black cars out in front and tons of people watching to see what was going on. Turns out that President Bush (this was back in 2006) was signing some important papers. Kinda cool. Too bad we didn't see him.

More to come soon!
